Improving Your Event Industry Relationships, Cultural Awareness, and Event Day Logistics

In this wide-ranging session, we will analyze many ways in which you can strengthen and enhance your role, processes, and knowledge in your area of the meetings and events industry.

Meetings are an exercise in teamwork and collaboration, and that is why the relationships between event planners and the vendor team are so crucial. Meredith will discuss various ways to build these relationships and common mistakes that inhibit this teamwork as well as provide suggestions on how to cultivate referrals, use social media effectively for collaborative credit, build respectful working relationships, and collaborate effectively with your colleagues for smoother event day logistics.

In regards to working with our clients, our industry provides the opportunity to produce events for various cultures and religious groups. Each group has certain cultural norms and business practices that we should be aware of and adjust to in order to best serve our clients and book their business. Meredith will provide experienced guidance on strategies you can use to make you a multicultural events expert.

Learner Objectives:

1. Attendees will identify ways in which they are damaging their relationships with their colleagues and learn ways to improve event planner and event vendor relationships for better events.
2. Attendees will learn characteristics of various multicultural groups for better understanding, more event sales, and better event execution.
3. Attendees will learn strategies for improving event day logistics for smoother and more impressive events.
