#MPIWI

Join us in Milwaukee and experience 3 venues and an industry expert on big events!

Our August 15th program is hosted by Bars & Rec using their event space along with Pabst Best Place and Brewhouse Inn & Suites as our overnight host.  All venues are conveniently located across the street from each other in downtown Milwaukee!

Our featured presenter will be David Caruso of Dynamic Events by David Caruso!  Fresh off of large events like the Baird Center grand opening and the RNC, David will share logistic and planning details key to making successful events, big or small.

Don't miss the fun after the program with Name-That-Tune Bingo!  Imagine a bingo card filled with popular song titles. Our live entertainment host sets the game pattern and queues up the music for you and your colleagues to sign along to while marking your bingo cards.   See the space and activities that AMPED/Bars & Rec has to offer as they host our post event reception and raffle!

We will also be collecting items to benefit the Wisconsin Humane Society.  Items on their wish list include common household items like dish soap, Ziploc bags, office supplies, and more.  Check out the full Wisconsin Humane Society wish list.

Behind the Scenes:  Big Event Logistics

Behind the Scenes:  Big Event Logistics

From big events to small, whether planner or the host, we know that success is in the details.   However, in the hectic and stressful world of events, it can become easy to lose sight that our day-to-day routine is someone else’s big event, often with high stakes.    In his presentation, David Caruso will share insights from his 20+ years of experience in event planning.   David will share business and planning tips along with lessons learned from the field when planning events on the biggest stage to small events that make an impact.  Without naming names, he’ll also share stories on events that almost went off the rails but were saved!

    • Top 5 “overlooked” details for event planners and hosts
    • Human and company culture considerations when planning or hosting an event.
    • Differences between small, mid-size and large-scale events
    • The business side of your event.

      Speaker Bio: David Caruso

In his impressive 22-year career as an event planner, designer, speaker, media personality, curator and consultant, David Caruso creates spaces and experiences that foster joy and connection. As a native Milwaukeean, he decided to bring his keen eye and talent to his hometown, and by doing so, he raised the bar for events and experiences in his city and beyond.

He takes his event planning services to other spaces and places as well, including recent events in Chicago, Miami, San Antonio, Seattle, Scottsdale, San Diego, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the West Indies.

Because of his definitive style and keen business sense, David makes appearances on news and talk shows in markets across the United States – including Milwaukee, Chicago, Phoenix, Washington, D.C., and Denver. In the Milwaukee area, he has a popular “Entertaining in Style with David Caruso” segment on NBC’s show, The Morning Blend. He is a contributor to a variety of radio outlets and his work has been featured in key national publications including Brides Magazine and Catering Magazine.
A sought-after speaker on the national stage, David presents on the topics of weddings, style, business, branding, and design. He is continually invited for speaking appearances all over the country and has presented internationally in Riviera Maya, Mexico and Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic.

He has received awards, accolades and opportunities both regionally and nationally for his work, most notably for making a positive impact in his community, his talent in event planning, and for his smart style. A turning point in his career was when he won the ultimate industry accolade, Event Planner of the Year by National Association for Catering and Events (NACE).

In addition to his event planning services, David is the host of the Emmy nominated TV show Good Things Brewing in partnership with VISIT Milwaukee (debuted in February 2023); designer of two linen collections for BBJ LaTavola; a founding member of The Giving Circle, which directly supports survivors of sexual and domestic violence; and serves on the board of directors for the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF).

Introduced in 2020, Signature Style by David Caruso (www.STYLEBYDC.com) is a collection of affordable items from creative partners around the globe, each handpicked by David.
David's life and career embody the spirit of hospitality. His commitment to excellence and creating memorable
experiences for others is truly his life’s work.
