She made her “on-screen” debut while coordinating (and hosting a rousing round of loteria at) MPI Texas Hill Country Chapter’s Nacho-ordinary Networking on May 5, and she’s been on a roll ever since. Now, Nicole Green is back for a different kind of celebration – her hard-earned recognition as a volunteer of the month.
Though Nicole began her career in hospitality, working as a hotelier at Austin Marriott North, it didn’t take her long to realize which direction she wanted to take for her long-term career. Nicole’s passion lay in event planning; when she was presented with an opportunity with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) six years later, she knew where she wanted to be. Now, as a senior-level manager, she’s come to love the organization that has connected her to colleagues who are not afraid to divide and conquer when it comes to getting the job done.
Like so many of her peers, Nicole was eventually encouraged to pursue the Convention Industry Council’s Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation, and since earning it last year, her desire to become more involved with MPI, of which she’s been a member for 10 years, led her to serve as a volunteer alongside the member engagement team.
Outside of work, Nicole’s inspiration comes from her family, which includes her husband of 10 years, A.J., a six-year-old son named Hudson and a daughter whom the couple has been fostering (and hopes to adopt) since February. Nicole enjoys spending time outdoors, especially when she’s at a park or taking a walk with her dog, Foxy, and she’s always up for the very important tasks of being the family’s chauffeur and artiste extraordinaire.
Nicole’s art degree has not gone to waste. Using a variety of mediums, including painting, wood-burning and crafting, she creates the types of masterpieces that stand out..and stand the test of time.
