As a CMP holder, longtime MPI member and multi-award recipient, John knows a thing or two about hospitality. He discovered the service industry in the year 2000 after falling into and in love with its continuous advancements and ever-changing nature. But despite the technological progress that John has encountered along the way, he has valued one aspect of said industry above all -- people. And it’s no wonder. With his commitment to solid customer service and assurance of a smooth and flawless execution, John has become a consummate professional in every sense of the word.
Thanks to his experience in road show logistics and on-site management, John’s attention to detail when it comes to coordinating and supporting events of specialized requirements has earned him the praise of clients and colleagues alike. He has graciously received the awards of Unsung Hero, Committee of the Year and Planner of the Year, among many others. But his biggest and best award has been the opportunity to truly interact with his peers in a physical, face-to-face environment.
John’s leadership skills were put to good use when he joined the THCC in 2011 and began focusing his energy on the Texas Education Conference (TEC) planning committee, serving as a director of the chapter’s community outreach efforts. At previous years’ TEC and Jingle & Mingle events, John never missed a beat. His morning of braving traffic in San Antonio to run last-minute errands for TEC’s registration staff paved the way for the rest of the conference; his willingness to go above and beyond in offering help to just about everyone at both venues did not go unnoticed.
When he’s not out saving the world in a professional sense, John continues to be a superhero at home. He is a scuba-diving enthusiast and a dedicated father who sets aside money for his children’s future...while watching others spend it on “Antiques Roadshow,” his TV favorite.
