Move over, Sheriff! There’s a new volunteer of the month in town, and she’s bringing a pair of cowboy boots to her well-deserved celebration.
Jennifer’s down-to-earth personality and genuine way of connecting with every person she meets is no surprise given her upbringing as a fifth-generation Texan and the youngest member of the Rasco family, which includes siblings John, Jeff and Jill. Unlike most young adults who are not sure who they want to be when they “grow up,” Jennifer knew early on what she wanted to do. By the time she finished a work-study program in school and began creating layouts for Southwest Art magazine, Jennifer fell in love with graphic design and, coincidentally, her soon-to-be husband, Doug, who swept her off her feet during a country-western dance class.
Jennifer became involved with MPI THCC thanks to Attendee Management, Inc. (AMi), a family-based event services company founded by her brother Jeff, which presented Jennifer with a unique opportunity to showcase her impressive design and marketing talents. Now, as she prepares to serve on the Board of Directors during the upcoming 2021-2022 term, Jennifer looks forward to honing her leadership skills and meeting new people.
Although Jennifer has lived in Austin and Dallas, where she and Doug moved while in pursuit of his pharmacy residency, she’s always managed to find her way back to Houston, a city she calls home to this day. Outside of AMi, Jennifer’s familial ties are just as strong. She has two grown daughters, several nieces and nephews, and three grandchildren with whom she constantly stays in touch. And when she’s not spending time with her family, whether in-person or remotely, Jennifer channels her creativity into crafting, gardening and digital learning.
