Cherry Kay, the first of our three featured volunteers of the month, has dedicated many years to serving the needs of others, both as an active member of MPI THCC and a working professional with invaluable experience in the association market.
Throughout her 15-year professional journey, Cherry Kay has taken on the kind of responsibilities that allowed her to use her already-acquired skills while learning and growing in new ways. Among her accomplishments are her contributions as a meeting planner to TXhima, her leadership as a director of sales for the City of Amarillo, her expertise as an education manager at TAAO and her advancement to her current role -- also as a director of sales -- at Visit Bastrop.
Cherry Kay's involvement with MPI spans 10 years, and her level of commitment to the chapter speaks for itself. She has previously held the posts of program chair, vice president of education and president, to name a few; more recently, Cherry Kay has served on committees for nomination, Southwest Showcase steering and TEC sponsorship and participated in several advisory boards.
When she’s not working or volunteering, Cherry Kay keeps herself on her toes in other ways, whether on land or in the water. She has completed triathlons and marathons alike, and she continues to stay active by swimming, taking spinning classes, attending church and spending as much time as possible with her grandson, Lucas.
