Andrea Tilley, CMP - December 2021

By: Diana Balakirov | Dec 13, 2021

'Tis the time to give a special season’s greeting to our December volunteer of the month, Andrea Tilley, CMP.

Andrea has merrily gifted MPI her time since 2006, serving in several roles and sharing her amazing wordsmith talents.  She earned her CMP in 2008 and participated on the New Member Buddy Committee and Registration Committee. She currently uses her grammatical superpower proofing emails, the website, and articles for the Communications Committee.

Andrea has spent the past 21 years working with the Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association.  She’s currently enjoying her role as Director of Events & Membership.  She says much has changed over the years, and she shared her holiday hope of continuing to develop the position and help bring the association into the future in terms of technology.

A special fact about Andrea that many people may not know – she’s a 10-year cancer survivor.  Because of this experience, Andrea found her love of health and exercise.  It plays a very important role in her life.  In fact, she bikes and has even competed in the Spartan Race, a series of obstacle races of varying distance and difficulty.

Andrea hangs her stocking in Round Rock, Texas.  She sends out season’s greetings with her husband, Terry, of 16 years, “the best daughter ever” 12-year-old, Grace, and their Golden Retriever, Marley. The family enjoys spending time together at Lake LBJ.

With Christmas just around the corner, Andrea shared that decorating the house, spending time with family, baking, attending special church services, and seeing the Nativity are a few of her favorite things to do to celebrate the holiday season.

As MPI THCC closes out the year, we may be out of sight.  But, to Andrea and all, make this holiday season bright!
