From the Desk of the Chapter President:
It’s my pleasure to begin our highlights with some “excellent” news. MPISSN was recently recognized with the Award of Overall Excellence from MPI Global! This is a result from the contributions of last year’s Board of Directors. Thank you to all those that worked diligently on behalf of MPISSN, and especially to our current Past President, Sulema Peterson, who provided our Chapter the leadership and tenacity to overcome the challenges and be stronger for our efforts. We continue to celebrate this achievement and keep the momentum this year!
As a result of our Award of Overall Excellence, our membership team will be announcing scholarships to anticipate in the months ahead. Whether you personally could use some financial help to maintain your membership or have a colleague to refer joining, MPISSN will be providing opportunities of complimentary new membership or membership renewals for a planner or supplier, in addition to several $100 discount certificates towards a membership renewal or new member.
With great networking and education events held so far, and more to look forward to around the corner, MPISSN provides our members with industry connections and insights. Our education and events team were busy last quarter to provide excellence with our events, covering meeting planner boot camp essentials, member input during our Town Hall, a luncheon keynote educating about human trafficking plus informal meet ups to share experiences and reconnect with peers. Our in-person events have the feeling of a reunion, and if haven’t been to an event yet, please know that we miss you and cannot wait to connect with you. Be sure to visit the event calendar on the website and RSVP for the next program, and we will see you soon!
The upcoming session being held in collaboration with CalSAE at Seasonal Spectacular will cover the topic of Active Shooter Training on December 14th, and the Crab Feed committee is making plans for a fun feast on the evening of February 15th. Thank you to our sponsors in helping our Chapter to be able to put on such great activities for our members!
Our weekly emails will keep you updated on registrations for these and other future events to attend. We are also seeking interest from members with a Call for Nominations to establish the new Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 term. We would be remiss for our emails to get lost in cyberspace and not able to keep you informed of the Chapter. Please take a moment to ensure you have a secondary email associated with your membership profile.
The holiday season makes me feel an extra level of gratitude to our members and keeps me motivated as your President to help you make the most of your membership. My hope is that you reach out with how our Chapter can remain a part of your path of success as we Bounce Back to the Future. Thank you to our current Board of Directors who are working tirelessly to innovate and create a network for our membership that is rewarding and worthwhile to each individual. I could not be prouder of this Board and appreciate the work they are doing for MPISSN. The spirit of our industry is stronger as our membership grows and rebuilds with purpose. We want to hear about your needs so that we can continue to be an organization that delivers and supports its members.
