Data Privacy, More Global Than GDPR
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as we approached May 2018, was beginning to seem a lot like Y2K but with some teeth. In a little over two months, the EU has filed lawsuits against more than 190 organizations, including nonprofits, hospitals, and police departments, to name just a few.
Yet GDPR is just one of many new data privacy laws, either already enacted or near completion. In the United States, 49 states have already launched some form of new data privacy laws. Join us to learn the similarities and differences among data privacy laws and the risks associated with non-compliance as well as address the question: which privacy laws am I supposed to follow?
