Tradeshow Management: How to Measure, Design, Sell and Manage a Tradeshow

Hear and learn from an expert who will not only share best practices and trends but the realities of what it takes to manage and produce a thoughtful and well-run tradeshow.

Learning Objectives:

  • What new exhibitor agreement language should event planners include or negotiate in their expo agreements?
  • What exhibit hall features remain no matter what size the expo?
  • What do exhibitors now expect from ‘show runners’ in order to have a successful experience?

Join us for this interactive session as Laura presents us with “what would you do?” scenarios for discussion, learning and connecting with your peers for resolution.

[Meeting and/or Event Design: 1.50 CEUs]

About the Speaker

Laura Bohannon

Laura Bohannon, CMP, CMM
President at Your Meeting Pro

Her smile is a permanent part of her image.  Laura says that being nice is a huge part of her success.  “It’s so easy to be kind to everyone and yet it is not the norm in business. People think that you must show a cool, tough or stoic persona to be successful.  ‘More bees with honey’ is my modus operandi.”

Laura’s career in hospitality started in hotel sales in 1983.  With many mentors along the way she earned a seat on the Executive Committee by the time she was 30 years old. After the birth of her first child in August 1994, she started her own company, Bohannon & Associates, Inc. representing meeting and incentive programs for associations and corporations in California and Nevada.

Laura served as President of the Sacramento/Sierra Nevada Chapter of Meeting Professionals International from 2005-2006. She served on the board for more than 10 years earning Chapter Leader of the Year along the way and ultimately was named Meeting Planner of the Year by the chapter in 2003.

After earning the distinction of Certification in Meeting Management in 2007 Laura changed the company name to Your Meeting Pro to better describe her business.

Now with more than 30 years of experience in the industry Laura’s focus is on managing Expos and Trade Shows for associations.

Education Luncheon Keynote

Incorporating Diversity & Inclusion into Your Event Design and F&B

Well planned and executed events should be effective and essential to an organization’s success. They should also host and drive diverse and inclusive experiences for everyone. Yet often they either fail or result in less than desired outcomes for some participants who have special dietary needs and/or other disabilities.

Event professionals must regard diversity and inclusion as a strategic and logistical approach in the planning process and should consider all facets of the event, including the food and beverage being served. In this session, we will learn how to create more inclusive food and beverage environments, manage for diversity and capitalize on the unique perspectives of a diverse participant base.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover how diversity and inclusion are related to event design and F&B.
  • Learn how disability laws apply to event participants.
  • Set forth a framework to easily manage for diversity and inclusivity.
