The 2019 Annual MPI Ottawa Chapter Golf Tournament / AGM & Kick-Off took place on Monday, September 10, 2019 at Chateau Cartier Golf Course, located across the river 10 minutes from Downtown Ottawa.

The day started with the teams decorating their carts for our “Fair-Way” Festival and cart parade, followed by a great networking lunch at the clubhouse. Guests had the chance to munch on popcorn and cotton candy while earning additional raffle tickets by playing some fun fair themed games like, Cornhole, Ring-Toss, Giant Connect 4.

Emcee and committee member Brian Henry of Quality Entertainment, welcomed the group, played some great music and thanked the sponsors as well as the host venue. Henry also outlined the rules for the golf tournament. More than 45 golfers headed out on a Shot Gun Start at 2:00pm with their awesome carts and costumes! It was SO much fun to have everyone get into our FAIR theme this year!

On the course there was lots of action. A large number of holes had sponsors greeting golfers at the tee boxes where they served treats, snacks and beverages from their various destinations’ locales. All of which were thoroughly enjoyed by the golfers. There was even a hole that featured a competitive marshmallow drive!

A big thank you to the hole sponsors which included:

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Quebec City Business Destination for being our Beverage Cart Partner and Marriott Hotels for providing the Golf Carts.

Many laughs were had and memories made throughout the day for beginners and expert golfers alike.

5. room set up

After the round of golf, everyone retreated to the clubhouse where they networked and shared their successes and fails of the days’ events with old and new acquaintances all while enjoying more games and appetizers.

During the reception additional guests arrived for the AGM and dinner that lay ahead! The AGM was conducted by Past Chapter President, Greg Plazek and was followed by a well put together meal catered by the La Ferme Rouge culinary team.

Following the meal, guests were treated to a surprise performance from the talented artists at Le Ferme Rouge, getting the night off to a rocking start!

6. performance

Draws were held throughout the night for the many great prizes donated by Chapter members and industry supporters. Following the raffle draws, golfing prizes were given for closest to the pin, longest drive (men and women), and new this year - closest to the shark for men, closest to the panda for women, and Longest Marshmallow drive. The evening concluded with the prize draws for raffle tickets that everyone received from playing our exciting Fair Games and at registration.
