The Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Ottawa Chapter—Canada’s second-largest chapter and a repeat Chapter of Excellence award recipient—is inviting passionate, forward-thinking leaders to join its 2027 Board of Directors. With a proven track record of innovation, leadership, and community impact, including two MPI Global RISE Awards, we are more than a chapter—we are a powerful voice shaping the future of meetings and events.
For the 2027 year, MPI Ottawa Chapter is seeking:
President Elect (3-year commitment PE - 1 year, President - 1 year and Immediate Past President - 1 year)
Vice-President, Finance (up to 2 years)
Vice-President, Membership (up to 2 years)
Vice-President, Communication (up to 2 years)
Director, Partnerships (up 2 years)
Director, Member Care (up to 2 years)
Director, Member Events (up to 2 years)
Director, Awards and Recognition ( up to 2 years)
All positions start on January 1, 2027.

Commitments:
MPI Global Onboarding: Chapter Leader Summit in September 2026 (virtual); MPI Ottawa Chapter Fall Board Retreat (November 2026); and optional virtual board meetings shadowing (monthly).
Lead a committee and oversee its strategic operations (not chair); schedule and attend regular committee meetings
Participate One 2-hour board meeting (2 hours total)
Plus, one 1-hour exec meeting for VP positions (3 hours total)
Plus, one 1-hour OOP meeting for the President-Elect and VP, Finance (4 hours total)
Considerations
Must be an MPI member in good standing to apply.
All board members (and MPI Ottawa Chapter volunteers) must agree to and sign the MPI Principles of Professionalism.
A travel stipend (up to $200 per retreat) is available for out-of-town board members attending in-person strategic retreats (Spring and Fall).
