We organized this event for our client, the Children’s Aid Society of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry(CAS). It is an annual banquet to thank the foster families for all the work they do for the children.

This was the first year that Valor & Solutions helped CAS plan this event. It was a wonderful experience being able to work with them and plan a special evening for the families.

Distance to Cornwall

We were fortunate in that we did not really encounter any obstacles other than the fact that our office is located a little over an hour away from Cornwall. But it was still easy to work together. Although we love to connect with clients face to face, having regular telephone meetings works too.

Positive feedback

Following the event, we sent a survey and the feedback from guests was all praise. It is wonderful to hear when people enjoyed their evening as much as they did and that it meant a lot to them.

Themed video

As well as planning the event, we also create videos and images that are shown throughout the evening. One clip we produced was a “Thank You” video which featured the CAS employees expressing their appreciation to the foster parents for all that they do for the children year-round. We have done this with past clients, but it was the first time we did it with the CAS. It was a huge hit. Since our theme was Wild Wild West, we even had the CAS employees doing some line dancing, which really entertained the audience.

Last-minute challenge

Unfortunately, one of our emcees had to cancel a few days before the event. This created some additional stress. Luckily, we were able to find someone else in time, and she did a fantastic job. She was extremely personable and charismatic and helped orchestrate the flow of the evening well.
