Who is Edmonton Tourism?
Edmonton Tourism, a division of Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, is the trusted expert and resource for marketing Edmonton’s visitor experience. Working alongside our Stakeholders we deliver exceptional experiences, inviting guests to stay longer, spend more and share their stories with others.
To accomplish these goals, we focus on brand aligned destination marketing and quality in-destination events, experiences and festivals for the visitor all year round. A complete range of supporting programs and services are also accessible to our Stakeholders, hotels, attractions, restaurants and activity providers located in Edmonton. Ultimately, we measure ourselves on the visitor’s satisfaction with the Edmonton experiences, major events and attraction attendance levels, as well as hotel occupancy rates and major events we confirm.
Why you are a sponsor for MPI Ottawa?
MPI Ottawa has a very engaged and committed chapter where excellent connections and relationships are made. There is an energy in the chapter and an environment where people help each other out and make good ideas become great.
Edmonton is changing every day and becoming a vibrant city with new energy and new development. We have the new Edmonton All In branding that we want to let planners know that Edmonton is “All In” and our entire city is onboard and ready to help. Being a sponsor gives us great exposure to meeting planners and assists us in lead generation to accomplish our goals.
What MPI Chapter events do you sponsor and why?
We have recurrently been a Platinum Sponsor of the Charity Auction and Prix Prestige Awards Gala, with these events the attendance is usually higher with a greater targeted reach for our dollar spend.
The Gold Partnership for the Kick-off and Bronze of the June Education events are new events that we are sponsoring this year. We thought that it would be great to start off the MPI year and end the MPI year with mixing up our sponsorship dollars.
MPI Ottawa chapter really treats their sponsors exceptionally well. The value that Edmonton Tourism receives from being a sponsor ensures we see true ROI year after year.
What’s your favourite part of those sponsored events?
We like to be part of the energy of these events, to network and learn about new trends of our planners and fellow suppliers. These events give us the platform to tell the attendees what is happening in Edmonton and gives us the opportunity to let them know how Edmonton’s economy is diversifying and shaping the city into a leader in many industries such as health and advanced manufacturing.
