In Edmonton, things have always been done a little differently.  Edmontonians aren't afraid to think outside the box— from camping with bison, to partying under the aurora, and surfing on the prairies, there’s a uniqueness to how Edmontonians do ordinary things. With doers, makers, and dreamers, big ideas are cultivated in Edmonton, making it a one-of-a-kind destination for meetings, incentives and association events.

Home to World-Class Facilities

Edmonton’s venues aren’t just rooms; they’re incubators for great ideas and connections. With over 650,000 square feet of convention centre space, Edmonton’s conference centres are ready to help make your event a success. The Edmonton Convention Centre located downtown, offers 150,000 square feet of flexible and creative space that can host any event. Delegates will be in awe the minute they step foot into the venue and begin travelling through the atrium that overlooks the North Saskatchewan river valley. The world-class facility is the largest meeting venue downtown and has 2,900 guest rooms within walking distance.

The Edmonton Expo Centre is the largest meeting venue west of Toronto, boasting 522,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. The building integrates high-tech features with flexible and adaptable indoor space, has four exhibit halls, a grand ballroom and a renowned conference and catering services team.

Elk Island Long table dinner

Stunning Off-Site Venues

Inspire your delegates in the middle of Elk Island National Park with majestic roaming plains bison and idyllic scenery , or “wow” them with a unique celebration of the senses at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden, where you’ll experience botanical beauty that includes the stunning Aga Khan Garden (a Moghul- inspired garden unique in North America), the Kurimoto Japanese Garden, indoor showhouses and an outdoor woodland amphitheatre. Head off the beaten path to the award-winning Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm – Here you’ll find immaculately landscaped gardens that create a tranquil and unique atmosphere to get away, have fun, and grow.

Long, Glorious Sunny Days

June through August, the sun can rise as early as 5:00 am and sets as late as 10:00 pm. That’s 17 hours of vitamin D, and plenty of time to pack in warm-weather activities. The sun even sticks around when the temperature drops in the winter, allowing your delegates to get out and embrace the cold by stopping by one of Edmonton’s outdoor patios (that’s right, winter patios), take part in a city-wide snowball fights, spectate a deep freezer race or catch a spectacular view of the Northern Lights.

Edmonton Canoe River Valley

There's green space, and then there’s the North Saskatchewan River Valley

Coming in at 22-times the size of Central Park, Edmonton's river valley and park systems have over 150 km of trails waiting to be used. Delegates can cruise through North America’s largest stretch of urban parkland by foot, bike, canoe, snowshoe or even Segway.  Hub for Sports and Entertainment in the Heart of Downtown

Take delegates to the ICE District downtown and conquer awe-inspiring acres that include local restaurants, nightlife, a state-of-the-art casino, luxury accommodations and of course, Rogers Place. This architectural and technological marvel hosts the biggest names in music and is home to the Edmonton Oilers and Oil Kings hockey teams.

Edmonton Freewill Shakespeare Festival

We’re Called Festival City for a Reason

Shakespeare under an open sky? You’ve got it; the Freewill Shakespeare Festival is a month-long celebration of the bard that happens every summer from late-June to mid-July. A winter festival with sculptures made of ice and…fire? No problem; the Silver Skate Festival is Edmonton's oldest winter festival and brings your delegates an extravaganza of art, culture, recreation and sport. With over 50 festivals annually, there’s no shortage of excitement to fill your itinerary - whether it’s 30 degrees above, or below.  A Hotbed for Innovation and Information As one of the youngest and fastest growing major cities in Canada, Alberta’s capital is home to makers and risk takers who are ready to bring their ideas to life. Edmonton is globally recognized as a hub for machine learning and artificial intelligence research, and it has grown to become known as a flourishing ecosystem of collaboration between visiting groups, local associations, educational institutions and influencers. When you have some of the best and brightest coming to Edmonton for its world-class research institutions, entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to science and technology, it is the perfect destination for groups to meet and collaborate.
