One of the most anticipated nights of the year for networking, socializing and fundraising is coming up on February 1, 2018. It’s the Annual MPI Ottawa Charity Auction and Dinner. If you attended the event last year, you will remember how incredible it was. We raised a lot of money for our two charities, we had some fantastic presentations and we heard some amazing stories about the people we support in our community. It was a unique evening you don’t want to miss.
We are pleased to announce the event will be held at the recently renovated Delta Hotels by Marriott Ottawa City Centre at 101 Lyon St. North. Space is very limited this year and we have fewer tickets than we did last year. Do not wait to buy your tickets. Plan ahead and get them now before they sell out to avoid disappointment.
We are proud to announce proceeds from both the live and silent auction will be shared between two charity recipients – The Ottawa Network for Learning – School Breakfast Program and Hopewell.
The Ottawa Network for Education – School Breakfast Program ensures that each day 13500 children in 175 schools have access to a healthy breakfast in a safe, supervised environment – to help each child start their day ready to learn.
The philosophy of the program is that no child/youth is turned away. The program supports all four Ottawa school boards: Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est, Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de L’Ontario, Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, Ottawa Catholic School Board.
Hopewell is eastern Ontario’s only eating disorder support centre. Recognized by the professional community, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Hospital, Hopewell has become a centre of excellence, providing information and support to those affected by eating disorders. Currently, eating disorders are the most common chronic illness in the female adolescent population. More than that, nearly one in five young women suffering from a serious eating disorder does not survive. The funds we raise from this event will support Hopewell’s on-going programs and services including telephone, office and email support, mentoring programs, support groups for individuals and families, expressive art groups, outreach presentations, and workshops for individuals and professionals.
