The MPI Houston Area Chapter Awards Program is designed to recognize, honor and celebrate outstanding accomplishments and service by members of the MPI Houston Area Chapter. YOUR INPUT IS VITAL! We depend on members to submit nominations of MPI-HAC members who you feel should be recognized for their extraordinary contributions and dedication to the Chapter or the meetings industry.
You are welcome to nominate multiple individuals and in multiple categories, we simply ask that each nomination be submitted separately. The awards selection committee will notify all nominees of their nomination, review the submissions and select award recipients from the information provided for those nominated. All members may be nominated by their peer members or self-nominated. Nominators and nominees must have an active membership with MPI. Nominators can nominate as many members as they like. Award specific criteria is outlined below:
Supplier of the Year Award
Recognizes an MPI Houston Area Chapter active supplier member who represents leadership and excellence in the meetings industry and continuously provides innovative services and or products to effectively support MPI, the Houston Chapter and its members.
Criteria for this award:
Planner of the Year Award
Recognizes an MPI Houston Area Chapter active planner member who represents leadership and excellence in the meeting planning profession and has made a significant contribution to the meetings industry, MPI, and the Houston Chapter.
Criteria for this award:
Recognizes an MPI Houston Area Chapter member who has made an extraordinary personal or professional commitment that contributes to the advancement of our organization and the Houston meetings community. Nominees will be considered for their professional experience, involvement in MPI (local or international), industry service, and civic activity.
The qualifications and judging criteria for Member of the Year nominations are as follows:
Rising Star
Recognizes an MPI-HAC member with less than 5 years of industry experience who has made outstanding contributions to the meetings industry and to the Chapter during their first years as a member. This award is based on the level of Chapter engagement, volunteering and commitment fulfilling Chapter goals.
The qualifications and judging criteria for Rising Star Award nominations are as follows:
Volunteer of the Year
The Volunteer of the Year is
awarded to a supplier, planner or student member who made an outstanding
voluntary effort to the Chapter. This individual has been an active participant
on one or more MPI-HAC committees; designed, organized, delivered or
administered new and ongoing programs for MPI-HAC; volunteers for other meeting
industry or charitable organizations; and demonstrates a keen and sustained
commitment to volunteering for MPI. Most of all, they should embody the spirit
of volunteerism.
*The MPI-HAC Board will select the
Volunteer of the Year from the 12 Volunteer of the Month recipients recognized
during the year.
Silver Fork
Nominees for the Silver Fork Award are those venues who have hosted a MPI-HAC event or function over the Chapter year. The award is based upon attendee evaluations and is presented to the venue that was voted by the membership to have the highest level of culinary excellence and provided an outstanding experience hosting an MPI-HAC program.
This award, given by the President at his/her choice, recognizes an engaged member who has contributed significantly to the chapter in the current fiscal year. Their contribution may include inspiring other members, creating new initiatives or acting as a catalyst to bring positive results.
