There’s a reason “Start with the basics” is a phrase so commonly used to introduce any learning. The basics are the most important aspects or principles that you should learn first. In the world of meetings and events, the basics are a necessary foundation on which to build your planning skills.
Whether you 1) are new to event planning, 2) are planning events even if that’s not your job title, or 3) need a refresher, MPI’s Basics Boot Camp: Meeting Fundamentals Certificate Program teaches you the must-perform tactics that ensure successful event execution, delivery and measurement.
This Events Industry Council-certified, six-hour course offers a deep dive into the building blocks of successful event planning. You’ll learn how to define objectives and identify stakeholders through meeting design development. As well, you’ll learn how to create RFPs, contracts and menus, and identify staging, audiovisual needs and more.
Led by an expert facilitator from MPI, this certificate class touches on every element of the meeting planning process, offering you the opportunity to employ best practices for your business, make changes to your processes and ensure that your operations conform with industry-leading standards.
Nancy Snowden serves MPI as the Manager of Educational Experiences. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Arts in Adult Education and has worked for nearly a decade creating meaningful developmental experiences for students and adult learners. At the completion of the program, you’ll be able to:
“I’ve been an official Events Planner since 2003, planning 10+ conferences each year. I took the class as a refresher/learning course to help in working toward obtaining my CMP and CMM certification. I learned so much new information and have a better understanding of the how’s and why’s to doing certain things.”
