#MPIWI
Step up to the plate and swing into Spring and join us on May 16th at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport. This is a baseball themed event so please dress casual and wear your favorite team (Brewers) gear! Tracy Stuckrath will get us thinking about how menu selection can unconsciously impact diversity and inclusion in our events.
Prior to Tracy’s session, the Crowne Plaza will provide us with a delicious lunch and host a networking reception immediately following the session.
During the reception, we will also have our Chairman’s Challenge presented by our President-Elect, JoEllen Graber. This event raises money for the MPI Foundation, and the activity for this year’s Chairman’s Challenge is a wine and beer pull…sounds like the PERFECT MPI-WI activity! The money raised by the MPI Foundation provides professional development and career opportunities through grants and scholarships. The MPI Foundation also propels the meeting and event industry forward by funding innovative research and pan-industry initiatives that support the strategic plan of MPI. To participate in the Chairman’s Challenge, attendees can purchase a numbered cork to have the chance to win a bottle of wine, a growler or six pack of beer with each cork pull.
Don’t forget to visit one of our complimentary 101 session before lunch!
This session will be a summary of process and content and will cover the application process, taking a sample test, clarification on test materials and advice on "day of" expectations.

Well planned and executed events should be effective and essential to an organization’s success. They should also host and drive diverse and inclusive experiences for everyone. Yet often they either fail or result in less than desired outcomes for some participants who have special dietary needs and/or other disabilities.
Event professionals must regard diversity and inclusion as a strategic and logistical approach in the planning process and should consider all facets of the event, including the food and beverage being served. In this session, we will learn how to create more inclusive food and beverage environments, manage for diversity and capitalize on the unique perspectives of a diverse participant base.
