Spring has barely sprung, but our newest volunteer of the month, Theresa Campos, is already getting a headstart on what is sure to be a productive and personally fulfilling season of work, family time, community service, and everything in between.
Theresa didn’t waste any time when it came to launching her career. In the 1990s, she ventured into the hospitality industry, at age 16, and discovered the exciting world of hotels. Though she initially worked as a bartender and waitress, paying her way through school at the University of the Incarnate Word, Theresa ended up pursuing other opportunities over the course of her professional journey. From weddings, catering and banquets to sales, guest services and general management, Theresa has done it all. Her love of working with a diverse group of colleagues and peers has made her professional journey even more gratifying, leading her to her current position as Director of Sales at Origin Hotel Austin.
While Theresa is an active volunteer, both at MPI THCC, of which she has been a member since 2010, and at the Ronald McDonald House, she is also a doting grandmother of three and a devoted mother to son Mike and daughter Dominique, with whom she just might get her first tattoo. When she’s not working, Theresa enjoys dancing, baking, painting, making floral arrangements for events, and learning how to refurbish old furniture. Living life to the fullest is Theresa’s first and foremost priority, matched only by her love of travel, beaches and a potential combination of the two when she eventually retires in a warm-weather destination like the Florida Keys.
