In an age where careers tend to take on surprising twists, and college degrees can lead to many unexpected turns, there’s nothing better than “being fulfilled by what you do, with opportunities to help yourself and others grow.” Even in the most challenging of times, the words of Jo Beth Wolfe, our chapter’s volunteer of the month and a welcome addition to the Communications Committee, make up an inspiring sentiment that most of us can live by.
As someone who was born and raised in College Station, Jo Beth embodies the meaning of what it means to be a proud Aggie supporter and, most importantly, a genuine Texan. With plenty of fond memories created along the way, including those of meeting and marrying her husband, Matt, Jo Beth has made College Station an important part of her life in many ways.
Jo Beth’s loyalty to the city that she calls home has been the driving force in her establishing meaningful relationships and building trust among her clients over the years. Her authenticity-driven professional experience, first as a sales and marketing manager at Brazos County Expo Complex (where she booked meetings, conventions and social events for over 11 years) and now, as a convention sales manager with a focus on the association market at Visit College Station, speaks for itself.
Although Jo Beth and her family of travel enthusiasts — which includes her nine-year-old son, Reid, and (occasionally) her niece Addyson — takes an annual trip to the beach, she’s also had to rethink many of her previously planned one-off adventures. In the wake of vacation-related challenges brought on by an unprecedented year, Jo Beth has decided to hit the road in a brand new trailer and give the great outdoors a try.
