In Your Own Words - Jeff Hudson, CSEP

We asked Jeff Hudson, CSEP, the owner, lead AV technician, and senior DJ at Spacecraft Entertainment what the Networking Opportunities with the MPI Texas Hill Country Chapter has meant to him.  Here is what he shared.  

How long have you been a member of MPI and how have you seen the opportunities within the organization change over time, both generally and personally for you?

I’ve been a member of MPI for 1 and a half years. I’ve learned that the more you are involved, the more you get out of MPI. So, as I attend chapter functions, networking events and committee meetings, my opportunity for connecting and learning increases.

How has being involved in the chapter helped you build relationships that have positively influenced both your career trajectory and your personal growth?

I have met many very friendly and encouraging members. Just by showing up and striking up conversations you can learn a ton. People I’ve met have taught me everything from new ways of looking at our business model to software tools and resources. You can’t help but grow personally and professionally being around such a cordial bunch.

In what ways has the MPI network of professionals supported your development or opened doors for new collaborations?

MPI professionals are very open to meeting new people and encouraging connections. More than once, another member has introduced me to someone that helped me expand my network.

How would you encourage others in the industry to engage with MPI Texas Hill Country to maximize connection for their own career and personal growth?

I would advise others to come to a few events and start chatting with members. Ask lots of questions, get a feel for the group, and decide if it’s a good fit for you.

Reflecting on your journey with MPI Texas Hill Country, how do you think the relationships and experiences you've gained have shaped your broader approach to networking both inside and outside the chapter?

Being involved with MPI provides a path for business and personal growth. It’s a path you can personalize and fit into your own journey. For me, discovering MPI has shown me how networking can be fun and low pressure.

Jeff Hudson, CSEP is the owner, lead AV technician, and senior DJ at Spacecraft Entertainment. He has over 25 years of experience in the entertainment, event, and meeting industries. Jeff studied classical and jazz music in college, played trombone and bass in a number of groups including The Spazmatics and on cruise ships. After DJing for many years, he now focuses on production - audio, video, lighting, and staging for live events.
