Becca Burns, December 2022
Valentine’s Day is here, and we’re celebrating the season of love by showing our appreciation for Becca Burns – a returning volunteer of the month!
Since becoming a member of MPI THCC, Becca has wasted no time in putting her skills and talents to good use. From sourcing auction and donation items for the chapter’s annual silent auction, to becoming involved in the planning of the June celebration and awards dinner, Becca has always found time to show her dedication and remain committed to the hospitality industry.
Like many of her peers who were affected by the global pandemic, Becca sought a career change that would not only draw upon her previous experience as a convention sales manager at Hyatt and Marriott properties in Austin and San Antonio, but also allow her to take her professional growth to the next level. Becca joined the ConferenceDirect team in 2021 as a Global Account Executive. She supports a variety of clients with their site selections and venue-contracting for meetings and conventions ranging in size from 10 to 2,000 attendees. In 2022, Becca earned a top 100 associates ranking for revenue generated!
Becca and her husband, Chris, live in Austin, raising their two-year-old son, Alex, and enjoying the best of what life has to offer, from visiting parks, to hosting dance parties at home, or spending quality time with friends and family. Becca and Chris are also avid travelers. Last year, the couple vacationed in Canada, taking in the stunning views of Calgary and Banff and inspiring many of us to follow suit. Although that particular trip may have come to an end, it’s safe to say that Becca and Chris’ adventures with Alex are just beginning. Thank you Becca for all you do for MPI THCC!
