With just a few more weeks left until summer officially sets in, we celebrate young adults’ and future professionals’ milestones and look forward to the travels ahead. Although the meeting and corporate world doesn’t rest, this time of year is ideal for reflection as we look forward to a continued recovery. You each have accomplished so much as individuals, and you were even stronger as a whole! Our worlds turned upside down over one year ago, but that didn’t stop many meetings and events.

I encourage you to not only reflect on your own and collective accomplishments but also think about (or make any new) goals as you plan for the future. Your incoming 2021-2022 Board of Directors will be doing just that on May 21-22, preparing to take office for the first time or transitioning into a new role. Under the leadership of incoming President Sophie Curtis of Visit College Station this July, we will take on the theme of ‘Create Your Future’ for the next year of MPI Texas Hill Country Chapter.

This month, we continue to celebrate with you! For Cinco de Mayo, the Networking Committee took us on a virtual trip to Laredo, Texas as we connected, cooked together, played games and enjoyed new beverages to ring in the holiday. It was great to reconnect with members and get to know those new to our local chapter. Thank you, Visit Laredo, Texas XPO and the Networking Committee, for bringing this unique experience to members at a very low cost!

Later this month, on May 26, we will celebrate entrepreneurship with an education session led by a member of MPI’s Independent & Small Business Owners (ISBO) community member, Nick Reid, who will guide us through steps to take for our future success. This event is not only for those who currently operate or own their own business but all of us as we reskill, look for new revenue streams or take the leap to entrepreneurship.

In addition, MPI Texas Hill Country Chapter’s annual online auction kicks off May 24, running through our in-person end of year celebration on June 10. Save the date for the online auction and the celebration and don’t miss these and other discounted experiences that we will discover together!
