President's Message

Inside Look From the President - April 2020

Marcia Williams, CMP, CMM

Dear Members,

It’s been a hard few weeks. COVID-19 is having a real impact on all of us – our events, our businesses, our families and friends, our day-to-day lives. We want to help – help you stay connected regardless of life changes – and have created a task force to identify and develop ways to assist you during this crisis. We will update you soon.

While everyone is currently on pause, the MPI THCC board is committed to serving our chapter members in a responsible manner. We’re evaluating our current cash flow, managing and reducing expenses, focusing on what we can do to survive the crisis and bounce back when we begin living in our new reality. Together, we’re creating plans that will position our chapter and our members for growth and recovery in the coming months.

Since January, the MPI THCC board has been busy working with a marketing firm to help us strengthen our chapter’s branding across all marketing and communication channels. The goal is to position MPI THCC as a resource to enhance the careers of our members. This has been achieved by crafting a new brand story that will permeate all marketing materials and ensure MPI THCC’s value proposition is clearly and concisely delivered to all our member constituencies – planners, suppliers and sponsors.

  • Graphically, we have created a new website header that better captures the essence of the chapter and our region in a compelling and contemporary way. In May, you will be reading this newsletter in a whole new light as we will be introducing our new name and design in reflection of our enhanced brand image.
  • Our sponsorship prospectus has been totally rebranded to clearly articulate the benefits an MPI THCC partnership brings to businesses.
  • Socially speaking, we will be stepping up our content to better connect with our members throughout the year.
  • And lastly, the graphics of our signature Texas Education Conference (TEC) have been totally redesigned not only for 2020 but beyond, thus giving this event the prestige and importance it deserves.

As the meeting and events industry changes and evolves, MPI THCC is keeping current to best meet the needs and demands of our members. Stay tuned!

Sheltering in place can be tough, but we can’t wait to meet face-to-face very soon. Let us know how we can help. Stay well. And remember that we’re stronger together.

Sincerely,

Marcia Williams, CMM, CMP
2019-2020 MPI THCC President
