Session overview
If You Think You Have A Millennial Problem, You’re Missing The Bigger Picture
Many companies today are talking about their “Millennial Problem” around engagement, loyalty, and retention. But companies who are focusing on Millennials are missing the bigger picture, which is the fundamental shift in how people work is changing. Led by technology and demographic changes, we are going through a revolution in the way we live and work. Companies think this “Millennial problem” will eventually resolve itself, and will get back to ‘the good old days’. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Companies continue to manage and regulate their people based on a set of rules created before the introduction of the internet, laptops, and smart phones, somehow think those rules apply today, and believe they will be good enough to attract top talent moving forward. That simply isn’t reality. With how quick the world is changing, the need to stay current and attract top talent is vital. In this session, learn about Millennials beyond the stereotypes, understand how current work standards are out-of-date and broken, the future work environment, and what you need to do to position your organization to be ready for the future top-talent workers.

Learning Objective

  1. Understand Millennials beyond the stereotypes, and learn about where these stereotypes come from
  2. Learn about the future of work and the workplace, and what top talent will expect from organizations moving forward
  3. Learn how to rethink culture and environment in an organization to become ready for the future of work and top talent.

patrick_kelly_150Patrick Kelly is the founder and President of Change Point Consulting. He began his career in the corporate world working as a consultant for a global real estate organization, working with business owners all over the world on issues around growth strategies, attracting talent, marketing, and building engaging and empowering cultures. Through his tenure, Patrick began to see common issues arise: the struggles of what lacking a culture designed for today’s changing world will do to internal dynamics and generational gaps. As a Millennial himself, he understands the mentality of the generation. Through Change Point, Patrick helps companies understand the shifts in how we work, identify their unique culture, learn how to present it for today’s workforce, and build an engaged workforce across all generations.
