Often times members ask, “How can I get more ROI out of my MPI membership?”  Getting involved on an MPI Rocky Mountain Chapter committee is the very best way to develop the kind of relationships that have provided MPI members around the world the kind of ROI they have been looking for.  Congratulations for taking your membership to all new levels.  We look forward to welcoming you onto an MPI Rocky Mountain Chapter committee.

 

Leadership Committees

The primary goal of this committee is to attract, involve and develop the future leaders for the Chapter. This committee provides a means for members to derive the greatest benefit from their participation in the chapter’s many volunteer activities, while developing their skills to enable them to become leaders within the chapter.

 

Plan and implement festive end-of-term event for all leadership and committee volunteers.

This committee is responsible for recognizing our Chapter Members throughout their volunteer time with the Chapter.

This committee will be responsible for tracking all of the volunteers that make our Chapter what it is.

Education Committees

The purpose of the education committee is to research, develop and present timely industry topics to the membership that affects positive change. Committee members select program(s) they want to be directly involved in. For stand-alone educational programs, you will work with other members of the committee to research, develop and present the educational topic. This will include accessing and meeting with speakers, working with the venue and designing the logistics of the program.

 

This committee is responsible for the successful implementation of our chapter meetings. These meetings are the essence of our Chapter’s ability to provide educational and networking opportunities to our membership. Involvement can range from taking on multiple tasks to devoting a few hours a month. Utilize your passion for presentation delivery (staging & a/v) content, décor, food & beverage or any other part of making a dynamic event.

Finance Committees

 

Plan and produce the annual awards event to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our members, chapter and industry.  The committee and sub-committees are responsible to recruit sponsors for all aspects of the event, as well as handle the theme, marketing and logistics of the event.

The primary objective of the Committee is to plan and coordinate the Chapter’s Golf Tournament held in a partnership with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of PCMA. This is one of the chapter’s largest fundraisers and it is the responsibility of the committee and its sub-committees to recruit sponsors, planners, solicit raffle and prize donations as well as handle the marketing and the logistics of the event.

The primary objective of the Committee is to plan and coordinate the Chapter’s Annual Auction held in the fall. This is also one of the chapter’s largest fundraiser and it is the responsibility of the committee and its sub-committees to recruit sponsors, planners, solicit raffle and silent auction donations as well as handle the marketing and the logistics of the event.

This committee hosts the Chapter’s Quarterly Networking events each year. Working closely with the Director of Strategic Alliances in finding Chapter partners that are unable to host the larger monthly programs but want to showcase their restaurant or venue to a smaller group.

Communications/Marketing Committees

 

The purpose of the Proofreading Committee is to coordinate and present consistent chapter communications to the membership. The committee proofs, designs and produces all communication and marketing materials. Editing skills are helpful, but not required.

This committee reaches out to the members for their input, either for the member of the week, member on the move, or tracking the membership anniversaries.

This committee is responsible for providing the Communications team with the list of Members Anniversaries and New Members monthly to be recognized in the monthly publications.

Social media is the way of the future, so if you’re interested in helping with the Chapter’s social media initiative then this is the committee for you.

The Website committee is responsible for ensuring that the content on the website remains current and relevant.

The public relations committee is responsible for getting the chapter in the press. This includes submitting press releases and updating industry publications with the MPI Rocky Mountain Chapter calendar.

Membership Committees

 

This committee provides the Chapter’s orientation classes, which are held just prior to select monthly meetings, and makes new members feel welcome and gives them a guide to how the Chapter works.

This committee contacts current members by phone and email to assess the needs of the membership, answers questions, and offer member suggestions to the board.

If you like planning creative ways to attract new members and working to help people through the process of becoming a member, this committee is the one for you.  This committee also has the opportunity to contact meeting guests and welcome them to the chapter.

This committee is responsible for creating a structured process for college students to network with other chapter membership.  There is a focus on educating students in changing trends in the meeting industry & providing a structured internship program.

This annual event is for area college students and to help them transition from college to work. Top named speakers and educators will help the students in writing resumes and how to network like a pro.

This committee is responsible for bringing a Chapter event to Members in the outlying areas of Denver (Colorado Springs, Summit County). There are several members that are unable to make it to Denver for the Chapter meetings and this is our way of bringing events to them to make them feel like they are a part of our Chapter.

This committee is responsible for tracking each member’s involvement in the Chapter. At the end of the year the top (3) involved members are awarded at the Annual Gala.
