Environmental Wellbeing  - Where do Meetings and Events Fit In?

Helping the event industry to take better care of our planet by understanding the depth and breadth of sustainability and a circular economy is key to our future. Many organizations have robust ESG strategies, yet many are not certain where they fit in to make an impact. Event professionals must understand how their meetings/events impact into these goals/commitments and need to embrace inclusivity, wellbeing, accessibility and sustainability action into the design of their meetings/events before they are told how to do it.

In the world of sustainability, there is new terminology and concepts that we must understand.  In this session, you will walk away with a full understanding of why this as important as the financial success of your organization and how to implement these strategies starting at the beginning of your event design.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Understand how ESG strategies are impacting how we do business
  • Learn what Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions are and how relates to meetings/events
  • Discover how to design your next meeting/event with sustainability and wellbeing at the core of the experience to meet your organizations goals and commitments.
  • Discuss how to measure your meeting/event Scope 3 emissions and how to develop a strategy for reduction
We will also have opportunities to meet and interact with the Board of Directors and hear about volunteer information and be able to sign up for something that interests you!
