The goals of the Community Outreach and Industry Advocacy Committee are to raise awareness of nonprofit organizations in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area and nationally; and to provide our members opportunities to volunteer their time, talents, and, if possible, donate money. One avenue for these efforts is through partnerships with local organizations during our education and networking events to bring the attention of a particular cause or mission to our chapter.
We also work with similar organizations to advocate for and advance the needs of the meetings and events industry on both the local and national scale. We do this by participating in events focused on highlighting the meeting industry, sharing resources and ideas, and working together to promote the importance of the industry in the US economy and beyond.
