Serving on the board is not only demanding and challenging, but it is also extremely rewarding. Consider becoming a leader in a chapter of the largest organization of meeting professionals, with a chance to contribute to the growth and professionalism of our Chapter.
The Board of Directors is made up of Philadelphia Area Chapter members: Directors and Vice Presidents, who comprise the Executive Committee. Active chapter members in good standing are eligible for nomination and election to any elective office. For Executive Committee positions, it is preferable that the member has previous service on the Board of Directors. Philadelphia Area Executive Committee and Philadelphia Area Director positions are available for the 2025 calendar-year term (January to December 2025).
MPI Board of Directors Qualifications:
- Be an MPI Member in good standing.
- Be willing to fulfill the obligations of office, in the capacity indicated
- Have a history of involvement, accomplishment, and dependable service to MPI
- Be willing to contribute time, energy, and creativity to the chapter with the consent of your employer
OPEN POSITIONS:

Before committing to a board position, please review the job descriptions available here or navigate over to the MPI Philadelphia Area Chapter Committees page
- Must attend and participate in 10 of 12 board meetings
- Must submit a board report each month with fellow committee members
- Attendance at monthly chapter meetings is strongly encouraged
- Attendance at the 2-day annual retreat in October/November prior to the start of the elected term, as well as the mid-year retreat in February/March is essential
- Contribution of information/articles for the e-newsletter and blog as requested
- And other responsibilities as outlined in the committee description section
