Since August 2020, CMP candidates now have the option to take the exam from their homes via remote proctoring. In-center testing remains available as well. The certification exams are now offered year-round rather than only during set windows as was done in the past.
MPI Oregon offers CEU validation for qualifying programs attended, CMP 101 orientations for those wanting to find out more about the certification, and a bi-annual CMP Study Group for those preparing to take the exam.

Open to anyone planning to take the CMP exam, the CMP Study Group is a ten-week program which meets weekly for one hour via Zoom. The sessions are typically held Wednesdays from 12:30-1:30 pm PST, however final day and time for the study group sessions will be determined based on participant availability. The last two study sessions are an extended 1.5-hour exam cram sessions.
Guided by MPI Oregon CMP certified leaders, the study group covers all domains and skills contained in the CMP International Standards (CMP-IS) outlined in the syllabus. In addition, candidates will take quizzes based upon the content of the CMP-IS. This series of regular infusions of knowledge will better prepare you throughout the months leading up to the exam and help you stay on track with your studying.
Registration fees for ten-week study group are $75 for members and $125 for non-members. The member rate is available to MPI members from any chapter.
The above registration fee entitles you to full participation in all 10 classes, all practice quizzes and class materials, and access to a network of CMPs who donate their time serving as speakers to help you prepare for the CMP exam. Prior to beginning the study group, participants must have purchased required EIC reading materials.
In 2014, the Convention Industry Council launched the Certified Meeting Professional healthcare subspecialty (CMP-HC) program to address the needs of a growing segment of CMPs who manage the production of meetings in the healthcare industry.
