2017 Scholarship Recipients
"My scholarship to attend WEC 2017 was a huge opportunity for me and my career. My employer generously provides for my annual membership in MPI, but unfortunately can’t also cover the additional cost of attending the World Education Congress. The scholarship I received from the MPI Foundation covered travel, hotel, and registration fees for the 4 day conference. This conference is a huge opportunity to network with other meeting and event professionals, and provides the opportunity to receive continuing education credits for my CMP certification. I am so grateful for the scholarship I received from the MPI Foundation and look forward to researching additional opportunities that may be available."

2016 Scholarship Recipient
"My involvement with the Oklahoma State University MPI student chapter has provided me a lot of opportunity in the meetings and events industry, mostly within Oklahoma or the US. With the advice and support of an MPI mentor, I applied for the Larry Lee Memorial Scholarship to attend IMEX 2016 in Frankfurt Germany. This scholarship would be awarded to only two students from the United States and in March I learned I had received it. In April I traveled to Europe for the first time for IMEX and the Future Leaders Forum, a program within the conference for 100 globally represented hospitality students to learn and grow as the future meetings and events industry leaders. This connection to the industry allowed us to learn at a high and meaningful level. The conference provided networking experience and international insight. Representing MPI Oklahoma at a world conference amongst some of the worlds brightest hospitality students was an honor. I gained invaluable knowledge to take back to OSU and my chapter. The collaboration we experienced at IMEX was outstanding. 'When we meet, we change the world.'"

As students of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration leading into their senior year, Krystal Burt and Brittany Earnest, earned a trip to the Future Leaders Forum at the Meeting Planners International 2010 World Education Congress in Vancouver, Canada. Both served in leadership positions within the MPIOSU Student Club.
