Holiday Service Project

A Very Giving Christmas is a Christmas Store hosted by Sunbeam Family Services and Catholic Charities. Families are given “Santa Bucks” to spend in the store. Volunteers help set the warm and inviting atmosphere of the store and make the holidays special for more than 600 families in the community who shop in the store. We are looking for greeters, personal shoppers, wrappers, and Spanish- speaking interpreters.

Catholic Charities and Sunbeam Family Services rely on the generosity of their donors and volunteers to make this program successful. Each organization works with its donors to secure needed items and financial donations.  During the donation process, donors choose which of the two organizations they wish to give credit for their gift. Then, the organization recognizes the gift and confirms its association with A Very Giving Christmas. In 2018, all items purchased by donors are delivered to St. Nick’s Shoppe are housed at Sunbeam Family Services. While the Shoppe is open, Catholic Charities and Sunbeam Family Services staff and volunteers will work together to ensure the needs of all the participating families.
