For ICC Sydney, staging events is about more than the numbers. The venue is a champion of change and community, helping clients to make a positive contribution to the vibrant city of Sydney through its Legacy Program.

An Australian first, the ICC Sydney Legacy Program was designed to help clients create a lasting impact—contributing to the intellectual and cultural capital of Sydney, long after the conclusion of an event, all while providing delegates with enriching experiences.

The venue’s dedicated corporate social responsibility (CSR) team work with clients to identify how they can advance the social and sustainability goals of their event, forge a new partnership with a local organization, or simply give back to the community via five streams: First Australians, Creative Industries, Innovators and Entrepreneurs, Generation Next and Sustainable Events.

Proud Indigenous Heritage

Australia is a land with a proud Indigenous heritage. ICC Sydney pays its respects to elders past and present, and acknowledges the original custodians of the land, specifically the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation on whose land ICC Sydney stands.

ICC Sydney is firmly committed to celebrating and showcasing the cultures of Australia’s First Nations and through its membership of the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council, NSW Aboriginal Land Council and Supply Nation, ICC Sydney offers connections to local First Nations businesses which clients can engage for their conference programs. Some of the highlights include incorporating an authentic Welcome to Country, arranging Darling Harbour tours with respected First Nations elders and working with artists and cultural performers.

Generation Next

Who will you pass the torch to? To help foster and support the next generation of leaders, ICC Sydney works with clients, as well as partners in academia and industry, to provide the leaders of tomorrow with access to the important events of today. ICC Sydney can provide students with access to your event, facilitate networking with them and even track their engagement.

Sustainable Events

Sustainability is key at ICC Sydney and the team has set KPIs around energy, water and waste, and regularly report on their progress in this area. Adding to its commitment to sustainability, ICC Sydney works closely with clients to help make sustainable choices during the event planning process. The venue’s industry-leading programs were trialed at Sibos, the world’s premier financial event, delivering beyond the client’s expectations. For those clients wishing to track their event impact, the venue can provide data on event energy, water usage and waste to assist in post-event reporting.

Innovators and Entrepreneurs

Home to a vibrant start-up community, Sydney boasts world-class innovators and ICC Sydney can introduce you to the best of them. Working in partnership with local start-up hubs and their members, government, academia and industry, ICC Sydney has developed a program where industry-specific startups are invited to pitch, present and showcase their ideas at relevant events.

Hosted by ICC Sydney, the start-up spaces are a venue inclusion, and participants in the program are selected by a steering committee made up of start-up business and incubator CEOs. By helping connect the ideas of the city’s emerging innovators with visiting business leaders, delegates and potentially investors, the Innovators & Entrepreneurs stream can support the commercialization of incubating businesses and introduce the next generation of members to your association or business.

Creative Industries

Connect with creative talent from across the local community. Australia is home to an abundance of talented performers, artists and designers and offers an array of world-renowned galleries and museums. Through its network, ICC Sydney is able to provide a creative connection for clients, from featuring emerging or established performers at an event to facilitating bespoke cultural tours and assisting in organizing gifts for delegates from authentic Australian designers.
