“We will be stronger. We will be smarter. We will, as we have before, lead the recovery of our country.”
“It’s been quite a challenge to remain optimistic during these unprecedented times. But I try to remain positive by looking at this as an opportunity to reinvent myself by attending various webinars and taking advantage of the various online training and certificate programs available. I’ve also spent time researching possible new markets to tap into that I previously had not considered. Although I do feel the meeting/hospitality industry will rebound, it’s the unknown of what that ‘new normal’ will look like that is somewhat unsettling.” Tamika Brown |
“Let’s be honest—it’s a tough one. I think we need to identify the reality and then look forward. Look for positive things happening in the world—for example, the Italians singing to each other from their balconies. Look for and hug those positive stories/moments. Cling to them. Be there for friends, too—use our technology for video chatting so we can keep people from feeling isolated. Take a deep breath every so often!” Anne Finzer |
“In complete transparency, I’m standing at the intersection of inspiration and depression. On any given day, the impact of our industry’s collaborative efforts has challenged us to be our best selves and to find the hope and humanity that make us human beings. On other days, the pain of not being able to help our colleagues who have been negatively affected is a heavy burden to carry. I choose on this day to muscle up and find ways to help our industry, our members and our families, despite the weight of the burden. It is the expected harvest of our labor that keeps me positive, despite our current barren times. My faith gives me solace that we will be stronger. We will be smarter. We will, as we have before, lead the recovery of our country. That’s what inspires me—being unapologetically ready to lead.” Jason Dunn |
