MPI Global’s Anti-Human Trafficking Committee was honored to host a breakout session at WEC (World Education Congress) in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Committee chair Malinda Harrell led this informative and interactive discussion, welcoming guest presenter Cardell T. Morant, Director of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Center for Countering Human Trafficking (CCHT). The topic was “What to Know and Avoid to Make Great Impact” and focused on the myths and realities of the horrific, global crime of human trafficking, how it intersects with the event industry, and how we can raise our voices together to help eradicate this crime. The session was at capacity and attendees were engaged, educated and inspired. The entire AHT Committee is incredibly grateful to Director Morant and his team for their dedication in this field and for their commitment in supporting us at WEC. For more info, please contact Malinda Harrell: mharrell@visitraleigh.com
