Fiscal Year Alignment – Short Year Tax Return Update

Each chapter who submitted their point of contact in late August should have received an email from MPI’s accounting firm, NGL, with a link to Suralink.  Be sure to check your junk/spam folders. This is the online portal chapters will use to submit their short year tax documents.  View a copy of the email and necessary documents in the FAQ on Fiscal Year Alignment Project. The point of contact for your chapter must click on the link in the email to create the online account.  There are deadlines in 2023 to submit the preliminary documents needed by NGL.

Special Committees

Anti-Human Trafficking Committee Meets with Industry Leader Sandy Biback

The MPI Anti-human Trafficking Committee recently met with Sandy Biback, CMP, CMM, founder of MPAHT (Meeting Professionals Against Human Trafficking), based in Canada. Biback is an anti-human trafficking in the meetings and events industry subject matter expert. Her current initiative, which will roll out in Canada first, will place informational cards in participating hotels to raise awareness about human trafficking (the crime that often hides in plain sight). Our committee provided her with an update on our own projects; this collaborative call served to both expand our knowledge and strengthen our relationship with an accomplished pioneer in this field.  Thank you, Sandy!
