Member of the Year

Shannon exemplifies commitment to volunteerism. Since rolling off the MPI Tennessee Board of Directors in July 2021, Shannon agreed to continue as an advisor to the office of the President. Over the course of her 8-year involvement on the Tennessee Board of Directors and 2-year involvement on the MPI Chapter and Membership Advisory Committee (2021 as Chair), Shannon has been crucial to MPI Global chapter-focused initiatives: In 2021, she served on the CMAC Connects program and helped lead the FACT subcommittee, recently serving on the Chapter Restructure Task Force.

A graduate of San Diego State University master’s program, Shannon mentors current students and sits on the Advisory Board for the creation of a new Hospitality major at Middle Tennessee State University.  Shannon strives to educate and connect industry members, having moderated a pandemic-focused panel at WEC Vegas and led a session for chapter leaders on finances and creative ways to engage members. Her efforts have helped launch a series of annual collaborative events that strengthen bonds across MPI chapters and industry associations.
