The future will find us, but will we find the future? On June 9th, 2021, the MPI Toronto Chapter presents a Professional Development session which will take a deep dive into the future of work, and how we can ride the wave of disruptive change instead of being swallowed by it.
As we head into a period of “The Great Transformation”, failure to adapt will mean failure to exist. While scientific hyper collaboration is the new normal, so to is “remote everything” which will have lasting implications for the live events industry and far beyond.
Join us for this dynamic session to gain invaluable insights as we navigate into a post-pandemic world.
In this session you will take-away:
- The purpose and benefits of futurism, how it is not about predicting the future, but about imagining & creating different futures together.
- Why the story of the future we have shapes our present and how the process of futurist thinking can be applied to our personal & professional lives.
- An understanding of the full scope of the futurist landscape - both dangers and opportunities, which goes far beyond Silicon Valley to encompass Indigenous peoples, feminists, people of colour, LGBTQ, and non-Western futurisms and the much more open, exciting and resilient futures they foresee.
- Confidence in imaginative programming choices that ensure real diversity of people, ideas, and different possible futures; and help our industry be a leader in facilitating the voices and ideas we need to build a world we actively choose to live in.
MPI Toronto is excited to welcome our friends from the MPI Scandinavia and the MPI UK Chapters.
