New Year New You

At this time of year most of us are looking to set goals for the new 365 days we’ve been given, reflecting back on (as well as celebrating!) the successes of the past year, and planning what we want to accomplish both personally and professionally in the not-so-distant future. I like to try and picture who I would be if I had a time machine that allowed me to automatically fast forward to January 2020. To do that I think: what steps do I need to take now to be that person next year at this time?

If your list of resolutions includes expanding your network, increasing your knowledge of the events and meetings industry, and finally getting that well-deserved internationally recognized accreditation, then perhaps the CMP program should be on your list because it easily checks all of these boxes and more.

Taking the plunge is always the hardest. Questions about having enough time, being able to afford it, and passing the final exam are common, but in no way should they be an obstacle. If you believe it, the answer to these questions can be “yes, I do!” and “yes, I can!” Did you know that those who write the exam with the help of the Toronto CMP Study Group have more than an 85% pass rate? Better yet, the CMP exam is structured in a way that allows you to write it in one of four windows, basically as your schedule permits. While some employers will pay for you to obtain the designation, those who don’t have employer kick-in can apply for one of several MPI Toronto Chapter scholarships to help subsidize the cost. Once you’re enrolled, you have the opportunity to join a study group with typically 15-25 participants, where you are personally coached by over 20 CMP designated industry professionals with a common goal to see you succeed.

Have I got you curious? Are you starting to think about this as a goal you want to achieve in 2019? Want to find out more? An information night for the Toronto CMP Study Group is being held on February 5th at the Marriott Toronto City Centre – click here to register now and get more information.  Join us, and let’s see if we can start to celebrate your 2020 success now!
