Member Spotlight - Katelyn (Hindsley) Hatch

Since Katelyn has joined the membership committee she has been invested in making sure our After 5’s are appealing to our members. She has been a constant presence at our local chapter events and has gotten to know many members through taking advantage of networking with our wide array of professional members. We are excited for her to join the board next year and see how she continues to help MPI grow.

What is your official title?
Director of Regional Sales 

How long have you been in the industry? 
Sometimes I joke my whole life, but I have been a paid patron of the hospitality industry for about 15 years. Hosting, Serving, Interning, and ending up in the hotel sales world 11 years ago with LHM. 

What’s the story behind how you got into your profession?
My family. My Father just celebrated 40 years in the hotel industry last year and I am proud to have followed in his footsteps to join the industry. 

What types of meetings do you do?
I get to help place spectacular meetings and events in LHM hotels and venues across St. Louis. 

Any words of wisdom you would like to offer to other industry professionals? 
Use and value your network toolbox. We are such a diverse industry with remarkable people who love helping others – your network toolbox is going to be key. 

What has been your involvement with MPI St. Louis?
I have been a member on and off for my career, but I am excited and honored to be more involved now in 2023 as Director of Media and Communications. 

What do you find to be the biggest benefit of being a member of MPI St. Louis? 
The community! MPI St. Louis allows you to make and curate connections in the community that are incomparable. If you need information or something done, this is the group to make it happen! 

Are you a native St. Louisan? Where did you grow up? 
I am not “native” to St. Louis, but I have lived here longer than anywhere else! I grew up moving around a lot as a kid, 7 States and 9 Cities. I lived in St. Louis for a few years growing up while my dad was the General Manager of St. Louis Union Station – moved away to Atlanta, Georgia in High School and then could not resist moving back to STL after college. This city has always held a special place in my heart. Not only are the people amazing, but there is never a dull day here in STL. 

Are you married? How long? Spouse’s name?
Just married in January 2022 to Will Hatch! One year in!

Travel! As much passion as I have for STL and everything amazing we have to offer, my husband and I love exploring the world and being outside.
