Please welcome Adam Jaschek to MPI St. Louis. Adam joined MPI last month! He is the Sr. Events Coordinator for the Missouri Botanical Garden and has been there for nine years. Adam plans large scale festivals, exhibits, and concerts, as well as smaller scale meetings, lectures, and plant shows. He has worked in the events industry for 18 years. Prior to the Garden, Adam managed events for the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame and the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House. “I love taking an idea jotted down on a piece of paper and turning it into a successful event that touches people's lives,” Adam said.
Adam says that the story of his entry into the field was almost by accident. “My education is in the social work field, but while in school, I was working in an event management position. After a brief tenure in the social work field, I naturally fell back into the events field and never looked back. I'm still able to apply my education in different facets of my profession.”
Outside of work, Adam loves being outdoors. Camping, hiking, kayaking, and gardening are some of his passions. “Oh, and trivia nights. Loooove trivia nights.” Adam also owns and operates a small kickball league here in St. Louis. He’s been playing kickball since 2012 and decided to start his own league three years ago. Adam actually met his wife playing kickball!
Adam and his wife, Bernie, were married in September 2018. Bernie is a pediatric audiologist at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Together, they have one senior citizen dog, Clemie! When asked if he is a native St. Louisan, Adam said “I am technically a native of Colorado, but my family moved here when I was 1, so I feel OK claiming dual native status. I grew up in South City and went to CBC.”
When asked what words of wisdom he would offer to other industry professionals, Adam said: “Know when to be flexible. Answers and solutions to problems can come from anywhere.”
Please give Adam a warm welcome to MPI St. Louis!
