Please welcome Sarah Moran to MPI St. Louis. Sarah is the Corporate Marketing Manager for World Wide Technology. She has been with WWT for 3.5 years and plans all of their internal conferences such as their Leadership Conference, Global Sales Meeting and all-hands team meetings.
Sarah says that the story of how she became a meeting planner began in college. “I received my Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with an emphasis in Conference and Event Management. My first event planning experience was at my first internship with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri. I assisted in planning their 100th anniversary event. Since then, I have worked at Switch and then Contemporary Productions planning corporate meetings and special events before coming to WWT.” When asked what she likes best about the industry, Sarah says that planning meetings takes an army. “I love being part of a hard-working team that comes together to create the best experience for our attendees. Celebrating together at the end of a successful meeting is the best feeling.”
Sarah is a native St. Louisian and grew up in Oakville. Food and vintage furniture are her passions. Sarah said, “I’m so grateful for the local food and small business scene here in St. Louis. You can typically find me trying a new restaurant or spending hours at resale shops!”
Sarah joined MPI in March. She says that the biggest benefit of MPI is the access to other St. Louis meeting professionals and she is excited for the opportunity to get involved. “I can’t wait to collaborate!” Sarah is also interested in becoming certified as a CMP.
When asked what words of wisdom she would offer to other industry professionals, Sarah said: “Don’t forget to have fun! What we do requires a lot of creativity, attention to detail and long hours. Be sure to take a step back and enjoy the hard work you’ve put in when you get the chance!”
Welcome to MPI St. Louis, Sarah!
