New Member Spotlight - Kenny Storie

Please welcome Kenny Storie to MPI St. Louis. Kenny is a Group Sales Manager at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel and is excited to join the St. Louis Chapter! Coming from Rolla, Missouri, Kenny originally did not know what he wanted to be when he grew up! He quit school and decided to try his hand in bartending. Luckily, the bar's owner had connections affiliated with the University of Missouri in Columbia which eventually led to 20+ years of success in the hospitality industry!

When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Kenny said "It is never the same; (each day) is always different."

Kenny's area of expertise includes selling guest rooms and meeting space for companies and organizations and when asked what words of wisdom he has for others in the industry, Kenny replied, "Keep up with what is current but do not forget the old standards. Always think outside the box. Your best source for ideas is to see what your competitors and peers are doing."

Kenny enjoys spending his free time with his wife of over 25 years, Jennifer and their two children Harley and Bain. When asked what his hobbies include, Kenny said he enjoys Route 66 research, exploring urban ruins or "any ruins', collecting old postcards, hiking and working out.

Kenny has already become an active member and is excited for the connections, ideas and knowledge the chapter will bring. In his short time as a member, Kenny has already joined the Annual Awards Committee and is ready to assist wherever he can benefit in the organization.
