MPI St. Louis Monthly Education Program - January 24, 2019
Six Steps to a Zero Waste Event
MPI St. Louis welcomed members and guests alike into the New Year with an excellent education luncheon, hosted by Palladium St. Louis in their historic and well-appointed event space.
Six Steps to a Zero Waste Event, presented by Julia Spangler, was a highly informative program on sustainability. How to plan, execute, and measure against the zero waste business principles maintained by the Zero Waste International Alliance were reviewed in detail. Throughout the presentation, participants had the opportunity to discuss and share best practices on their experiences related to waste reduction, diversion and measurement techniques.
With clear steps and action items, the zero waste event planning process can be used by any planner or supplier to reduce the amount of waste generated by their events, plus produce meaningful measurements they can use to track and share their results.
The staff at Palladium, which offered a creative and delicious meal and fine service, graciously hosted attendees. Our February Networking event sponsor, Candle Fusion, also provided an overview of their facility and some fun facts about scent! MPI St. Louis thanks our host and presenter for making this event a success!
