Please welcome Scott Vlha to MPI St. Louis. Scott is the Owner of St. Louis Event Photography and is excited to join the St. Louis Chapter! Coming from the San Francisco Bay area, Scott ran a successful business for more than 18 years. His career began as a Newspaper Photojournalist and after 17 years, Scott decided it was time to start his own business.
When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Scott said "Nothing stays the same. Challenges are always just around the corner. Each event is unique and photo opportunities are endless."
Scott's area of expertise includes corporate and private events ranging from small, one-hour events to multi-day conferences, meetings, and incentives.
When asked for words of wisdom he has for others in the industry, Scott replied "Never be afraid to suggest new things to your clients. Sometimes the same old thing becomes comfortable and then growth never happens. Push yourself to do more."
Scott enjoys spending his free time with his wife of more than 36 years, Donna and their 22-year-old "only child" Senegal Parrot, Zeus. When asked what he and his wife enjoy doing together, Scott said "My wife and I collect and sell cool old stuff. We collect anything from the late 1800's to the 1940's mostly - signs, general store, advertising, etc."
Scott looks forward to becoming more of an active member and collaborating with others to bring new and innovative ideas to the meetings and events industry through the use of photography and its services. In his short time as a member, Scott has already volunteered his photography services by covering several MPI events and has also generously offered his onsite print and social media system.
Please give Scott a warm welcome to MPI St. Louis!
