Navigating Ai: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

Artificial Intelligence is no longer the future of hospitality—it's the present. But as we stand on the brink of this AI revolution, are we prepared to wield its power responsibly?

Let's face it—data privacy, AI hallucinations, and bias aren't exactly the sexy side of artificial intelligence. But in the world of hospitality, they're as crucial as submitting your final guarantees.

Join us for an eye-opening yet refreshingly honest 60-minute session where we'll dive into the thrilling possibilities and critical challenges of AI in hospitality. We'll tackle three key pillars of responsible AI use:

  • Data privacy
  • AI hallucinations
  • Bias

This isn't just another tech talk—it's your roadmap to navigating the ethical minefield of AI implementation. Whether you're an AI enthusiast or skeptic, you'll leave with:

  • Practical, actionable insights to implement AI safely and ethically
  • The confidence to make informed decisions about AI adoption
  • Don't just witness the AI revolution—lead it, responsibly. Join us to ensure that as we harness AI's immense power, we do so with wisdom and integrity.

Learning outcomes include:

  • 3 pillars of Concern for AI
  • Data Privacy
  • Understanding hallucinations
  • AI Bias causes

We will also have opportunities to meet and interact with the Board of Directors and hear about volunteer information and be able to sign up for something that interests you!

Sara Olán-Peterson Event Principal & Optimization Consultant at Convene OPS, is revolutionizing the hospitality industry through AI and smart automation. With 15+ years of hospitality experience and a newly AI-certified expert, she empowers event professionals to work smarter, not harder. As a Hispanic entrepreneur and first-generation graduate, Sara is passionate about opening doors for others. Sara's "Tech & Touch" mindset aims to create an event planning community where innovation meets compassion, efficiency sparks creativity, and planning professionals can balance crafting remarkable moments while savoring their own. When not serving on the MPIRMC board or advocating for AI in event planning, she's practicing archery, quoting movies, or constantly enjoying snacks.

Christopher Eastment, Teaching Assistant, MSU Denver, has spent 20 years in the hospitality field, from touring live tours, to restaurants, and large scale events such as the Great American Beer Festival, the Big Beers Belgians, and Barely Wine festival, as well as numerous events across the mountain range such as the Aspen Idea Festival, and Food and Wine festival.
He is now researching Robotics, AI, and Service automation and is pursuing a PhD at Iowa State University.
