As the economic environment and hotel structure continue to change at a rapid pace, it is important to understand that there exists an enormous amount of conflicting data regarding industry, economic trends and forecasts that will dictate behavior in the Meetings Environment.  In addition to Global Uncertainty, 2020 will be a Presidential Election in the United States.  Globally the Geo-Political environment remains as uncertain in all parts of the world.
This session will take deeper dive to help gain a better understanding of the economic environment and how behavioral changes will have an impact in 2019 and beyond. This session will also discuss other threats that could impact the industry which include:  Food Born Illness, Health Outbreaks and Travel Issues.  We will also explore the forces of change that will continue to pressure meeting design, behavioral expectations as well as an understanding of how a focus on health and wellness will continue to drive expectations.
Learning Objectives

  1. Understand supply and demand issues domestically and globally
  2. Review industry forecast for major North American Markets
  3. Understand the need for change and rapidly changing technology
  4. Understand the need to research and focus to understand news today
  5. Review the behavioral and technology changes that will impact meeting delivery
