During the holiday season make sure you check out all the fun and festive activities happening around Philadelphia! Whether you are looking for something to do with the kids or have family visiting from out of town, there is sure to be something for everyone.
Dilworth Park:
Throughout the winter visitors can ice skate on the Rothman Institute Ice Rink. Need a warm up – the Rothman Institute Cabin offers assorted snacks, cocktails, beer and hot drinks. Or grab a hot chocolate from the Starbucks and stroll through the seasonal plant arrangements in the Wintergarden and shop the “Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market” to find the perfect gifts. You will also want to make sure and catch the dazzling “Deck the Hall” Holiday Light Show.
Franklin Square Holiday Festival:
From November 14th through December 31st Franklin Square will feature a free Holiday Light Show – while watching stay warm with a hot beverage from Ben’s Sweets & Treats and holiday fare at SquareBurger. The kids will enjoy Saturdays with Santa or a ride on the holiday train and carousel.
Christmas Village:
Located in LOVE Park you are sure to find something for everyone on your shopping list at this German-style market. With 80 booths of local and international merchants on display including everything from handmade toys to wintry apparel. There is also entertainment and delicious food and drinks, to enjoy after all the shopping is done!
Macy’s Christmas Light Show:
Take a break from shopping to enjoy the Macy’s Christmas Light Show. Taking place in the Grand Court in the Wanamaker Building since 1956 this is a must see! The free show takes place every two hours during store hours and is narrated by Julie Andrews and accompanies by the Wanamaker Organ. Make sure to also visit Macy’s wonderful window displays featured along the store’s Market Street side.
A Very Philly Christmas at The Historic Houses of Fairmount Park:
Perfect for the history enthusiast in your life, tours will be available at six of the park mansions where visitors can explore their holiday decorations. They will have also have four ticket special events that will offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy holiday treats, demonstrations and live music. Learn more and
