What is unique about your venue and why is it ideal for groups or events?
Power Plant is the perfect non-traditional solution. The breathtaking height of the ceilings, the giant smokestack cutting through the center of the space and the windows surrounding the studio make it easy for innovation and creativity. The studio is equipped with audio-video capability and WiFi/Internet connectivity. Power Plant is conveniently located in Old City, down the street from the Convention Center, next to most major highways and in walking distance to public transportation. There is also a parking garage right across the street.
What is your venue’s best feature?
Our best feature is our personal touch. We are a family owned small business rooted in Philadelphia. We have flexibility with every client. Although we have an approved list of caterers, our open vendor policy allows for new companies to participate. Since we are a small company, our team is always accessible and willing to help with planning at all levels. We bought the building in 1997 and have helped an amazing array of clients over the past two decades.
How do you partner with your clients?
We collaborate with our clients to make sure their personal needs are attended to. From just renting the space, to coordinating all catering, vendors and rentals, the Power Plant team is here to help. We allow the flexibility for each client to put their personal touch on every rental.
What has been your favorite meeting/event?
Our unique space has attracted an array of events over the years; Nintendo’s launch of Grand Theft Auto, Dietz & Watson’s personal dinner party with special chef, Nick Elmi, Polar Bear wrestling at Rumple Minze’s product experience, annual brainstorming meetings with Campbell’s, Hershey’s & Whole Foods. Some of our favorite local caterers have had dinner events like DiBruno’s Legends of Cheese & Birchtree Caterer’s supper club. Local small startup’s have had their annual meetings with 5 staff. We don’t have a favorite. We appreciate the uniqueness of every event.
